07.25.08 - Eating Better
Jackson
has been doing much better in recent weeks with his eating. He will pretty well
as long as he can feed himself with a fork. He can't actually put the food on
the fork yet, so I do that for him and hand him the fork and he eats what's on
it and hands me back the fork for more. He can also finally drink out of cups
with valves! He refused those for so long, but he does great with them now. His
language skills are developing more and more. Just today he said "cracker" for
the first time. Of course, after the one time, he hasn't done it since, but it
was nice and clear when he said it. He can also say "car" when he wants to. Last
weekend, Jackson stayed overnight at his grandparents' house because Adam and I
were both in a wedding. He apparently had a great time...although I'm sure
Grandmama and Grandpapa had even more fun. He has his ornery moments. This
morning when I got him out of his crib, he had grabbed the wipes off of his
changing table and had pulled them all out and organized them into a nice pile
in his crib. Silly boy!
07.08.08 - New vids, finally
I've
really been slacking on the videos, so today I uploaded six new ones. Several
are from Jackson's birthday party and the others are just of Jackson being
Jackson. He has two new words now: ball and beep. And no, they don't sound the
same when he says them either. You can definitely tell the difference. Today, we
went on a tour of the local airport. We got to tour the terminal and the pilot's
lounge, as well as go up on the observation deck. We also got to go out on the
tarmac and look at a plane up close. Jackson really didn't "get" it, but it was
still a fun day out and a nice day to be outside to watch the planes taking off
and landing. Jackson did really well walking outside today. He usually acts like
his feet are glued to the ground, but he walked all around the airport and then
we went on a mini-walk around the building to get the mail in the afternoon and
he didn't want to come inside. Maybe that's one fear we can check off our list
hopefully! Now to get rid of the fear of the vacuum and of trying new foods!
